When it does fade it does not turn a weird color - it fades out nicely into lighter shades of purple (if your hair is pre-lightened).Bold and brilliant, the Joico Color Intensity range gives you endless creative possibilities to push the boundaries with your hair colour. Washing hair in cold water, using dry shampoo, reducing the heat of styling tools, and using products for color-treated hair all help. I have found Joico Color Intensity to be long-lasting. I have lost count of the number of times my ears or hands have been purple. I wash off the color in the kitchen sink with the surrounding area covered up with paper towels Also, have a hair color stain remover to remove any dye on your face or hands. Have a household cleaner with bleach in it nearby during the coloring process to quickly remove any stains. Although Semi-Permanent, Color Intensity will easily stain some surfaces - my bathroom sink has some permanent purple stains. Be careful not to get the color on any surfaces. For the application process, it is important to wear tight-fitting gloves during the application and when rinsing the color off. Because the area I am covering is so small, I put the color on with a gloved hand and work it in. Joice Color Intensity has a thick, pasty texture. The color is a deep and shiny purple and I get so many compliments on it. I end up coloring over it with Joico Coloring Intensity Amethyst because it is such a rich color. Neither shade, alone or in combination, is my darker purple color goal. They insist on using Pulp Riot color in the shade Velvet or Jam (because I love purple hair). For some reason, the hairstylists that I have gone to will not use Joico Color Intensity. These bleached areas have the "fashion colors" on them. My bangs are bleached as are sections of hair that frame my face. I have had Ruby Red, Magenta, Orchid Purple, now I am in a darker purple phase and I am using Amethyst Purple. I have been using Joice Color Intensity for years and I absolutely love it. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 June 2023 So far I've done 2 applications and I reckon there's just enough left in the tubes for one more. The dye took to all of it, giving me a lovely selection of different tones and I'm really happy with it! It also stained my virgin hair a little, which I wasn't expecting, given that it's so dark. I was applying two colours (Mermaid Blue & Amethyst Purple) onto pre-lightened hair that was stained from previous faded dyes, meaning my base colours ranged from green to yellow to rusty orange. It was much drier before (with only bleach and faded dye). I wash my hair with conditioner and in cool water and this seems to preserve the colour well.Ĭondition: I applied conditioner after rinsing out the colour and the dye doesn't seem to have damaged my hair at all. Longevity: I've yet to find any bright colour that lasts for very long, but this one has done well for me so far. Vibrant colour: bright, saturated and very true to the colour on the tube/picture I've tried a few different brands and this one is definitely my favourite.Įasy to apply: it's thick enough that it doesn't run everywhere, and the tube means it's easy to dispense.
